So, which foot to put down when stopping at a junction? Do you actually know the correct answer? Is it the left or is it the right? If you can’t answer correctly at this point, perhaps you really are not an Advanced rider and should just give up and go and play golf…

Many EKAM members have been travelling abroad for years, so perhaps this isn’t a complete, comprehensive guide. It just focuses on a few important things that have been raised over recent months, a few of which have been coloured by personal experience.

A social ride for all EKAM members, we returned to the four-star Metropole hotel in Llandrindod Wells. Great food, swimming pool and sauna and better rates than Travelodge. Roads and scenery as dramatic as any in France or Scotland – and hardly a pot-hole to be seen.

And why would you? And who could do it? And how hard would it be? Well, first, are you interested? If you are here’s a short article that might make you think about it a little more. But even if you don’t think you’re interested you might still find the article interesting.

EKAM would like to say ‘thank you’ to Ian and Janice, who have made an immense contribution to the successful running of our club. After years of supporting the club in many ways, they moved into committee retirement in November 2023.

Some of you will already know me, but, for those that do not, I am one of your local Examiners based in Folkestone. My plan is to have a regular slot in eNEWS, to share some hints and tips for those preparing to take their test and perhaps some refresher points for you old die hards!
