Editorial

A fair bit in this month’s newsletter. The November Club Night raised a lot of topics for discussion, some of which we’ve already dealt with in the December newsletter. There are a couple of articles this month newsletter aimed at addressing questions raised on going abroad and we’ll be covering other questions over coming months.

The freed up funds to support training initiatives is good news as is the news that work is underway to provide the club with a new website. More on both in the New Year.

I’m also very pleased to be able to include this month another in our series of articles from IAM Examiners, this time from Steve Turner who has provided what I think you will agree is a very helpful read.

All that plus the regular updates on recent and coming events.

I look forward to catching up with some of you this week at the Christmas Party and others in the New Year

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Priorité à Droite – Who’s Right?

Although no longer applicable on the majority of major roads in France (and Belgium) there is still this traffic rule that means traffic joining or merging from your right could have priority over you.

Meet The Examiner - Steve Turner

Details
Written by: Steve Turner

Our occasional series of ‘Meet the Examiner’ is aimed at giving EKAM club members insight into who our IAM Examiners are and some of the skills and behaviours they are looking for at test.  For this latest article Steve Turner has been good enough to give us his thoughts on a few common questions of interest posed to him recently.

Could you provide a resumé of why and how you ended up taking the role of an IAM Examiner?

I was approached to become an examiner by the late Terry Friday while I was having breakfast at Mickeys Diner one day. I was still in the Police at the time and a member of the Motorcycle team based at Coldharbour, Maidstone, where I spent the last ten years of my service as a Traffic motorcyclist.
