The Queen's Regimental Riders Association (QRRA) One Aim Rally held over the weekend of 5-7 July was a great, if damp, success!

Sadly the weather wasn’t entirely helpful and that, coupled with England playing Switzerland, the British Grand Prix and an event at Wimbledon taking place, meant numbers were down on previous years.  However, over 300 bikers and their families (including EKAM's newsletter editor and his delightful grand-daughters) attended to enjoy a range of stands, an occasional beverage and some excellent bands. The latter including a somewhat noisy Sham 69 who have lost none of their punk genre!

The Rally was the QRRA's annual fundraiser for the regimental Benevolent Fund and we look forward to hearing how much money was raised for the very worthy cause.  It was also a chance to see the almost completed Veterans Horticultural Rehabilitation, Social and Community Centre which will become not only a fantastic clubhouse for the Riders but will also serve the much required needs of the veterans community.

Members of IAM will always be made welcome if they would like to visit.  Next year's Rally will take place on 4-6 July at which I hope more members of IAM will be able to attend (put it in your diaries now!).

Negotiations are already in hand to run an IAM tent next year (and at no cost to EKAM).
