Club Night

Club nights provide an opportunity to meet and socialise with other like-minded biking enthusiasts.  Talks and presentations are organised throughout the year on subjects as diverse as tyre technology and Paramedic demonstrations.  Guest speakers in the past have included John Surtees, Jamie Whitham, Terry Rymer, Patsy Quick, Paul Smart, Russ Malkin and Lois Pryce.  All these events are advertised on club nights, in "Out In Front" the club magazine and right here on the web site.

Meetings are usually held from 7:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at:

Sandyacres Sports and Social Club
Sandyhurst Lane
Ashford.  TN25 4PE
Telephone:  01233 627373

The Club also arranges a number of group runs that are open to all members, the venues and nature of which vary according to demand but we try to include a balanced choice.  You will find these an excellent opportunity to discreetly hone your riding skills and to pass on any bad habits you may have to others!  For those who would like to explore their machine's capabilities (and in some cases their own) track days are occasionally arranged at a local race circuit.

Members and Associates also meet up for a "Sunday Social Meet" at 9:30 a.m. on the Sunday following club night (10:45 a.m. during the "off" season). The venue for this social gathering is usually Sainsbury's Car Park, Simone Weil Avenue, Ashford. These regular gatherings offer the opportunity for non-members to find out a bit of what the club is about though they are not permitted to take part in organised activities. Check the calendar for revised times and starting point.

Membership of the EKAM entitles you to participate in all club activities and meetings. Initial membership is as an 'associate' member. The only prerequisite to joining is that you must hold a full motorcycle licence. Full membership is attained when you pass the IAM advanced motorcycle test, thus achieving one of the primary aims of the club.

The club is fortunate to be well supported by a number of local motorcycle dealers who, in addition to offering some discount to club members, also visit with a variety of demonstrator machines or hold open evenings just for club members. It is normal practice, though, to only allow full members to take their machines out on the road and you must be in possession of your driver's licence.
