Role of the Chief Observer

This document records the responsibilities of the EKAM Chief Observer as agreed by the Observer Corp.  Any of these responsibilities can be delegated at any time.  Those already delegated have the responsible person named.

Management of Associates

Allocate new Associate to Observers (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
Maintain allocations spread sheet (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
Receive requests for check test rides from Observers
Allocate check tests to IMI National Observers as required
Maintain check tests spread sheet (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
Record test dates and test results (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
Review Associates progress with Observers as necessary
Refer non-performing Associates to Associate Co-ordinator for review against Observer/Associate Charter
"Pool" non-performing Associates or reallocate if necessary (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
Receive applications for "Members Assessment" training and allocate candidates to Observers as required (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
Conduct cross checks on MA candidates as required

Management of Observers

Organise Observers into geographically based teams led by IMI National Observers
Recruit new Trainee Observers (Observer Corp)
Organise and assist with Observer Training Sessions – Nigel Wright
Allocate Trainee Observers to IMI National Observers (Local Observer Assessors)
Conduct IMI Local Observer final assessments
Conduct IMI National Observer training sessions and mock assessment sessions
Ensure Observer/training meetings are held as required
Encourage Observers attendance at events where free assessed rides are offered
Encourage the Observer Corp to continue to be ambassadors for the IAM and EKAM

Group activity

Provide a minimum of 4 ITAM sessions per year – Ian Lancefield/Nigel Wright
Provide opportunities for existing members to refresh/upgrade their skills
Attend monthly Committee meetings (as required)
Attend monthly Club Nights (as required

Regional activity

Attend regional Chief Observer meetings
Attend other regional meetings (as required)

Delegate any of the above to members of the EKAM Observer Corp, but ensure it gets done!
